Responding to the Earthquakes in Haiti & Tajikistan
Dear Church Family and Friends:
As you no doubt know, Haiti was devastated Tuesday by an earthquake. Tajikistan, a Muslim country in Central Asia (just above Afghanistan) was also devastated by an earthquake last week. WE MUST RESPOND quickly in both situations to prevent enormous loss of life from starvation and disease. We praise God that we have missionary contacts in both areas, that will enable us to directly funnel supplies and aid to the people who need it the most.
Conditions that were always desperate in Haiti are now life-threatening on an unprecedented sale. WE MUST ACT QUICKLY, and we are making the connections that will enable us to do so. Some of the ministry organizations we work with are already loading supplies and preparing to put people on the ground in Haiti to provide much-needed humanitarian aid.
WE NEED YOUR HELP. Please give whatever you can to our EARTHQUAKE RELIEF FUND that we have established at Celebration Church. You can either bring your gift this weekend when you attend worship, or you can give online right now. When you give disaster relief funds through your church, you can be assured that every penny will go directly to provide relief supplies and support, rather than to pay the administrative costs of an organization.
I would also encourage you to let the people your friends, family members and co-workers know that Celebration Church is sending relief and recovery aid to the people of Haiti and Tajikistan, because many of your fellow employees will want to support this great humanitarian work as well.
